Bob Denver was born in 1935 and was raised in Brownwood, Texas. As he was attending Loyola College in Los Angeles, CA studying political science, he began acting in college productions. This is where Bob honed his skills as an actor. After graduation, he taught physical education and mathematics at a Catholic high school in Pacific Palisades, California. It wasn't long after that when Bob auditioned for a role in the TV series " The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis" and got the job! After Dobie Gillis was canceled, Bob auditioned for the role of Gilligan on Gilligan's Island. He portrayed Gilligan for 3 seasons on network TV and also several TV Movies about Gilligan's Island.
