Der Text zielt auf ein Verstndnis der Mathematik als Methode ab, erklrt die mathematische Sprache, allgemeine Prinzipien und Konventionen und macht das oft Implizite und Unausgesprochene offiziell nicht als Trockenschwimmkurs sondern verwoben mit den Inhalten: grundlegende Ideen und Schreibweisen, Aussagenlogik, naive Mengenlehre, algebraische Strukturen, Zahlenmengen und analytische Geometrie.
