The combination of the basic to the applied aspects rarely occurs specifically at the levels presented by the international contributors within. The original contributions composed the symposium "Chitin and Ben zoylphenyl Urea" organized by the co-editors at the International Con gress of Entomology in Hamberg, Germany, August 1984. We extend our appreciation to everyone who made the conference an outstanding success and highlight of the Congress, as well as making this book possible.
