They are symbolically juxtaposed with mile Zola's La joie de vivre, a novel Vincent van Gogh placed in contrast to an open Bible in an 1885 Nuenen still life. As part of its mission to bring art to life, The Metropolitan Museum of Art invited Todd to design a series of wearable works of art.
