Handmade in Los Angeles, CA, these striking slides feature a band crafted from antique Persian rugs some dating back as early as the mid-1800s using time-honored techniques. They feature cushioned, leather-wrapped rubber footbeds; the leather, by the way, is all sourced from Leather Working Group-medaled tanneries. Please note that these mules are each one of a kind in other words, yours will be similar to what's pictured here, but will have completely unique variations in color and pattern. Mikael Kennedy started his career in New York City as a fashion and fine art photographer. In 2009, he began collecting carpets and selling them out the back of an old diesel Mercedes to clients in the city. A decade later, he opened a private showroom in Los Angeles to house his ever-growing collection and to present his burgeoning clothing brand, KING KENNEDY, which upcycles antique Persian carpets into cult accessories.
