Trolling, chunking, live bait fishing, and more are allowing anglers to quickly change tactics of the day when the fish dictate what they want. This allows smaller boats with more limited rod rack space the perfect opportunity to cut specialized gear, without a sacrifice to fishability. Shimano incorporated several key blank technologies with the creation of each rod blade, including Hi-Power X, Sprial X, and UD Glass construction, each blending together to maintain the rods structural rigidity and strength under load. This allows anglers to efficiently transfer all their energy into the fight, ideal for big game offshore species. Hi-Power X Hi-Power X utilizes diagonally wrapped carbon tape that runs up and down the length of the blanks outermost layer to reinforce its twist resistance. This also allows Shimano to perfect precise actions for the blank, specifically tuned for big game and the trolling tactics that go with them. Spiral X Construction Spiral X Construction consists of multiple layers of carbon tape that tightly winds the blank diagonally in opposite directions, enhancing torsional and compression rigidity without adding extra weight.
