These one-of-a-kind pieces come to us from the Moroccan village of Tamegroute an historic oasis perched on the edge of the Sahara desert that has been a hotspot for producing the countrys iconic Tamegroute pottery for centuries upon centuries. There, following ancestral techniques passed down for generations, each one was hand-molded by skilled local artisans into primitive, earthy shapes using clay dug from the nearby Draa riverbed. Unlike their colorfully glazed cousins, these particular pieces are fired in their raw, unglazed state, resulting in a pale, cream-colored hue and a coarse, sandy texture.
