How handsome is our Dutch Artist Portrait Tray? We created this JH exclusive in collaboration with renowned designer and artist John Derian, who, since 1989, has delighted decor enthusiasts everywhere with handmade decoupaged goods crafted from his expansive collection of curious 18th and 19th century images. Inspired by Derians process and our own love for all things vintage, we sourced the portrait featured here from the personal collection of our very own Chief Creative Officer, Devin Kirk. I found this piece nearly twenty years ago at a favorite, sadly now defunct, flea market in Waterloo, Belgium, he recalls. Dealers and fellow pickers alike still get a tear in their eye when they think back on that beloved brocante. Well always have Waterloo and lucky for me, Ill always have this gent to remember it by! Derian and his skilled team of artisans have expertly reproduced this one-of-a-kind find under handblown glass in his NYC studio, creating a beautiful decoupaged dish that captures every brushstroke and unique characteristic of the original artwork.
