And what are those techniques, you might ask? It all begins with a basin filled with a thick, vegetable-based liquid. Skilled craftspeople strategically sprinkle drips of paint onto the surface of this liquid and then gently swirl the pigments together using thin combs and awls to create a colorful, kaleidoscopic and completely one-of-a-kind pattern. A piece of paper is then carefully laid atop this liquid and quickly takes on the gorgeous design. Now thats a labor of love! While they were traditionally used to decorate the covers and endpapers of old books, were really digging how these works of art get to shine when wrapped around the exterior of our Heart Shaped Box.
