Da jedoch reale Finanzmrkte die idealisierten Bedingungen nicht erfllen, mssen fr eine konomisch fundierte Bewertung die Prferenzen der Marktteilnehmer einbezogen werden. Die klassische Modellierung von Prferenzen im Rahmen der Erwartungsnutzenmaximierung ist in diesem Zusammenhang jedoch nicht praktikabel. Andreas Ott entwickelt ein Konzept fr die Bewertung von Derivaten bei unvollstndigen und unvollkommenen Finanzmrkten unter Verwendung der wachstumsorientierten Portfolioplanung. Bei diesem alternativen Portfoliomodell werden die Prferenzen anhand von Wachstumsvorgaben modelliert, eine Nutzenfunktion ist nicht erforderlich. Analog zur nutzenbasierten Bewertung wird ein wachstumsorientierter Zustandspreisvektor (bzw. ein Martingalma) bestimmt. Zudem knnen wachstumsorientierte Reservationspreise und Hedgingstrategien fr eine fest vorgegebene Anzahl eines Derivats hergeleitet werden.
