Im Mittelpunkt der neuen Studie steht die Stadtentwicklungsphase, in der in Wolfsburg versucht wurde, ber den Bau erlebnisorientierter Groprojekte den Charakter und das Image der Stadt neu zu bestimmen. In keiner anderen Stadt ist dieser Festivalisierungsansatz einerseits so konsequent und insofern auch paradigmatisch, andererseits aber auch so ortsspezifisch verfolgt worden. Die Untersuchung beschftigt sich mit den stadtkulturellen Auswirkungen dieser erlebnisorientierten Stadtentwicklungspolitik fr die Integration der Bewohnerschaft, die Urbanitt der Stadt und die lokale Demokratie.
