Dabei spielen jedoch bislang legitimatorische Fragen der Gleichbehandlung aller Altersgruppen im deutschen Kontext eine untergeordnete Rolle. Dieses Thema gewinnt aber durch das mediale Interesse am demographischen Wandel und die jngeren europischen Antidiskriminierungsanforderungen zunehmend an Bedeutung. Dieser Entwicklung soll der transdisziplinre Band Rechnung tragen. Erstmals wird sich explizit mit dem Problem der Altersdiskriminierung und dem Konzept des Ageism befasst. Altersdiskriminierung und Ageism werden theoretisch und empirisch ausgelotet. In den Beitrgen kommen Wissenschaftler und Wissenschaftlerinnen aus der Soziologie, Psychologie, Linguistik und Rechts- und Kulturwissenschaft sowie der Praxis zu Wort, die sich der mglichen Benachteiligung von lteren in alternden Gesellschaften annehmen.
