Ausgangslage der Arbeit sind verallgemeinerte Darstellungen ber Migrantinnen und ihre in der Regel als rckstndig beschriebenen Herkunftskulturen, mit denen u.a. soziale Ungleichheiten legitimiert werden, sowie die in der ffentlichkeit vermittelte Annahme, dass sich so genannte Parallelgesellschaften bilden. Fr die Arbeit haben Migrantinnen aus verschiedenen Herkunftskulturen fotografiert. Zu ihren Bildern wurden so genannte Fotointerviews gefhrt, in denen die Fotografinnen ihre eigenen Bilder erlutern. Zentraler Fokus der Arbeit ist ein exemplarisch ausgewhltes Foto, das als "Ausdrucksmittel" und "Erkenntnisquelle" bildanalytisch untersucht wird.
