Stadtumbau ist ein aktueller Schwerpunkt bundesdeutscher Stadtentwicklungspolitik, der ebenso wie die allseits geforderte Brgerbeteiligung bislang kaum systematisch an konkreten Fallbeispielen analysiert wurde. Vor dem Hintergrund der Programme Stadtumbau Ost und Stadtumbau West analysiert Miriam Fritsche lokale Brgerbeteiligungsprozesse in zwei grostdtischen Quartieren: Marzahn-Nord (Berlin) und Tenever (Bremen). Um beteiligungsfrdernde und -hemmende Faktoren zu identifizieren, ordnet sie die lokalen Partizipationsformen in den Kontext lokaler Beteiligungskulturen ein. Dabei wird deutlich, dass das Partizipationsverstndnis zentraler Akteure sowie die mikropolitische Binnenstruktur lokaler Bewohnergremien die dominierenden Formen von Beteiligung, deren Reichweite und Intensitt entscheidend beeinflussen. Das Buch wendet sich an Dozierende und Studierende der Stadtgeographie, Stadtsoziologie, Lokalpolitikforschung, Raumplanung und verwandter Disziplinen sowie an Akteure aus der Praxis von Politik und (Kommunal-)Verwaltung.
