Diese als CD-Rom und Buch gemeinsam erscheinende Publikation bringt dem Leser die mathematischen Grundlagen musikalischer Stimmungen nahe. Dazu wird zunchst der Zusammenhang zwischen musikalischem Charakter eines Intervalls und Frequenzverhltnis der beteiligten Tne analysiert und in Tonbeispielen hrbar gemacht. Daran anschlieend werden die Konstruktionsprinzipien von vier verschiedenen, historisch wichtigen Stimmungen (reine, pythagorische, mitteltnige und gleichschwebende Stimmung) genau analysiert. Vllig neu in der gewhlten Publikationsform ist die Verbindung zwischen mathematischer Darstellung und illustrierenden Tonbeispielen, die direkt in das Dokument eingebunden sind und daher eine unmittelbare "Hrbarmachung" der mathematischen Konstruktionsprinzipien ermglicht.
