Das Buch stellt zunchst den Ansatz einer Hermeneutischen Polizeiforschung vor. Im ersten Themenabschnitt wird eine programmatische Positionierung entwickelt. Im zweiten Themenabschnitt werden exemplarisch methodisches Vorgehen und einige empirische Befunde der Hermeneutischen Polizeiforschung dargelegt. Im dritten Themenabschnitt geht es dann um die kritische Auseinandersetzung mit der Hermeneutischen Polizeiforschung.
