In diesen Komplex des Erbens bringt das Buch von Marianne Kosmann Aufklrung und Orientierungsmglichkeiten. Sie geht davon aus, da sich dabei Interessen und Emotionen verflechten. Denn das Erben erweist sich "als letzter Kommunikationsvorgang". Es geht sowohl um materielle Werte als letztlich auch um die persnliche Wertschtzung: Ob Shne oder Tchter den Betrieb oder das Wohnhaus der Eltern erhalten, kann ihre Position in der Familie zum Ausdruck bringen. Der "Erbkomplex" bietet also einen grund legenden Zugang sowohl zu sozialer Ungleichheit und ihrer Reproduktion als auch zum Bewutsein der Beteiligten. Die Vererbung ist gleichheitlicher, aber noch lngst nicht gleich geworden, wie die Autorin zeigt. Immer noch spielt es eine groe Rolle, ob Shne oder Tchter erben. Dabei berlagern sich die geschlechtliche und schichtspezifi sche Ungleichheit.
