Der Band stellt Forschungsergebnisse zu den Themen Krankheit und Gesundheit, Krankheitserlebens- und -bearbeitungsprozesse vor und verdeutlicht die Spannbreite dieser Auseinandersetzung ber sehr unterschiedliche Fachdisziplinen hinweg. Die Erforschung dieser Phnomene in der Soziologie hat eine lange Tradition im Rahmen medizinsoziologischer Fragestellungen. Aufgrund der Dominanz der biomedizinischen Sichtweise fhren diese Erkenntnisweisen jedoch ein (unbegrndetes) Schattendasein. Der Begriff der Medizinischen Pdagogik ist innerhalb der Pflege durch den Begriff der Pflegepdagogik ersetzt worden, in der Medizin wird er unter Medical Education gehandelt und in der Pdagogik erst neu entdeckt.
