Pdagogische Kindheitsforschungen haben gezeigt, dass die mediale Diskussion um Jungen als 'neue Sorgenkinder' und 'Bildungsverlierer' die tatschliche Situation von Jugen stark verkrzt. Neben der Frage nach der 'Richtigkeit' solcher Bilder ist jedoch auch nach deren Produktivitt zu fragen. In dieser Studie wird die diskursive Konstruktion einer Krise der Jungen in den Printmedien zwischen 1999 und 2009 sprachlich und visuell rekonstruiert und analysiert. Es zeigt sich, dass politische Akteure - Eltern, LehrerInnen und PdagogInnen - als problemverursachend beschrieben werden und als 'schlechte Eltern' und 'schlechte Pdagogen' in den Fokus geraten. Vor allem aber zeigt Studie, wie sich hierber Ordnungen von Geschlecht und Mnnlichkeit reproduzieren.
