Im Mittelpunkt der Arbeit steht die - gngigen Aufassungen zuwiderlaufende - These, dass "Chaos", d. h. ein bestimmtes Ma an Unstrukturiertheit, fr den Erfolg eines Unternehmens unbedingt notwendig ist. Auf der Basis umfangreichen Datenmaterials entwickelt Florian Menz ein Modell der Selbstorganisation von interner Unternehmenskommunikation, aus dem sichtbar wird, dass jedes Unternehmen einen doppelten Balanceakt vollbringen muss: den zwischen heterarchischer Selbstorganisation und hierarchischer Fremdorganisation und den zwischen Flexibilitt und Stabilitt. Die Analyse der kommunikativen Handlungen, ber die dies in erster Linie geschieht, fhrt den Autor zu der Erkenntnis, dass Selbstorganisationsprozesse in der Interaktion zu berraschenden Lsungen fhren knnen - Lsungen, die nicht voraussagbar sind, trotzdem aber zu erhhter Effizienz und grerem Erfolg des Unternehmens beitragen.
