Die Bestrebungen nach wirtschaftlich und technisch optimaler Produktgestaltung gehen mit der Forderung nach effizienten Kosteninformationssystemen fr die Entscheidungsuntersttzung im gesamten Leistungserstellungsproze einher. Die bekannten Kalkulationsverfahren werden diesem Anspruch nicht gerecht, da sie vollstndige Produktinformationen aus Konstruktionszeichnungen, Stcklisten und Arbeitsplnen voraussetzen: die Ausprgungen kostenrelevanter Produktmerkmale liegen damit bereits zum Kalkulationszeitpunkt fest, die Ergebnisse der Berechnung sind folglich nicht mehr entscheidungsrelevant. Bernd Eisinger entwickelt ein Modell, das in Abhngigkeit vom jeweiligen Informationsstand die genaue Bestimmung der wertmigen Folgewirkungen von Entscheidungen ber konstruktive Gestaltungsalternativen whrend aller Phasen des Produkterstellungsprozesses ermglicht.
