Seine Intensivfallstudien zeigen, dass nicht umfassende wechselseitige Lernprozesse zwischen den Beteiligten (Cross-Learning) eine Schlsselrolle spielen, sondern dass Wissen nur selektiv und probleminduziert ausgetauscht wird. Der Autor entwickelt das Konzept des Transaktiven Inter-organisationalen Lernens, das sich auf robuste Trial-and-Error-Prozesse auf der Basis von Produktkonzepten und -prototypen sttzt. Diese werden von Spezialisten erstellt, die hochgradig unabhngig voneinander und modular arbeiten.
