Konstruktivismus ist die These, da Realitt im Auge des Beobachters entsteht. Beobachter sind Sozialsysteme; wissenschaftliche Beobachtungen sind Erkenntnisoperationen. Sie dienen der Gesellschaft dazu, Wissen einerseits ber die kulturelle Innenwelt, andererseits ber die physische Auenwelt (Umwelt) zu gewinnen. Der Konstruktivismus ist die Theorie der Beobachtung einer sich selbst beobachtenden Gesellschaft, also eine Theorie zweiter Ordnung. Diese Theorie hat verschiedene Formen; erfolgversprechend scheint vor allem der systemische Konstruktivismus, den Niklas Luhmann begrndet hat.
