Stadtbewohnern wird oftmals eine geringere soziale Integration als Landbewohnern unterstellt. Soziale Integration umfasst dabei nicht nur die persnlichen sozialen Verbindungen einer Person, sondern auch die soziale Untersttzung, die durch dieses persnliche Netzwerk bezogen wird. Demnach verfgen Stadtbewohner ber eingeschrnktere persnliche Netzwerke und erhalten weniger soziale Untersttzung durch diese Netzwerke. Zur berprfung dieser Integrationsverlustthese wird fr die Theoriebildung, Operationalisierung und Datenanalyse auf moderne Analyse- und Modellierungsmglichkeiten zurckgegriffen: Sozial-Kapital-Theorie, soziale Netzwerkanalyse und Mehrebenenanalyse. Im Ergebnis zeigt sich, dass die soziale Integration im Sinne persnlicher Netzwerke durch den Wohnort und durch Persnlichkeitsmerkmale der einzelnen Personen beeinflusst werden. Unterschiede bestehen aber lediglich zwischen Bewohnern von Growohnsiedlungen und Landbewohnern, nicht aber allgemein zwischen Stadt- und Landbewohnern. Die soziale Integration im Sinne sozialer Untersttzung wird dagegen durch Merkmale der sozialen Beziehungen erklrt, nicht aber durch den Wohnort. Das bedeutet, dass Stadtbewohner gleichermaen soziale Untersttzung wie Landbewohner erhalten.
