In der vorliegenden Studie wird davon ausgegangen, dass die politikwissenschaftliche Analyse frher ansetzen muss, da der Charakter von Vertrauensbeziehungen in Demokratien in seinen Grundzgen durch den Prozess der Verfassungsgenese und den substantiellen Gehalt der Verfassung festgelegt wird. Der Zusammenhang von Verfassung und Vertrauen wird in theoretischer und (ideen-)geschichtlicher Perspektive rekonstruiert.
