Michael Bhnlein prsentiert eine methodenorientierte Untersuchung zur Konstruktion semantischer Data-Warehouse-Schemata. Er analysiert und bewertet Anstze zur konzeptuellen Modellierung von Data-Warehouse-Systemen und erarbeitet auf dieser Grundlage einen neuen Modellierungsansatz: das Semantische Data-Warehouse-Modell (SDWM). Zusammen mit einer ebenfalls von ihm entwickelten Vorgehensweise zur Konstruktion von Data-Warehouse-Strukturen auf der Grundlage von Geschftsprozessmodellen entsteht so eine umfassende Modellierungsmethodik.
