Dieser Band untersucht aus historischer und normalismustheoretischer Perspektive den behindertenpdagogischen Spezialdiskurs des "Normalen". Dabei kann aufgezeigt werden, dass die fr die Behindertenpdagogik konstituiven Kategorien des "Normalen und des "Anormalen" sich paradoxerweise wissenschaftstheoretischen Zugangsweisen entziehen, die "Normalitt" historisch spezifisch erklren und diese gleichzeitig in einen dynamischen Bezug zu "Anormalitt" setzen. Unabdingbar ist, wenn der disziplinre Fokus auf zu erziehende und zu bildende Subjekte nicht von scheinbar natrlichen Dichotomien getrbt werden soll, dass "Normalitt" und ebenso "Behinderung" als sozialkulturell hergestellte Kategorien wahrgenommen werden. Insofern wre es angebracht, den Themenkomplex systematisch in behindertenpdagogische beziehungsweise erziehungswissenschaftliche Kontexte zu integrieren.
