Dabei bestimmt er die Merkmale prmierter und nominierter Aufstze und untersucht den Zusammenhang zwischen dem Thyssenpreis und anderen Leistungsmerkmalen der Wissenschaft. Der Autor zeigt, dass der Thyssenpreis keine vllig neue Dimension der Exzellenzzuschreibung darstellt und mit anderen qualitativen Leistungsmerkmalen der Forschung korreliert. Aus der weiteren Untersuchung geht hervor, dass unterschiedliche Autorentypen im Prmierungsverfahren zum Zuge kommen und prmierte sowie nominierte Aufstze sich inhaltlich zum Teil deutlich von nicht nominierten Aufstzen unterscheiden. Als mgliche Ursachen werden Selektions- und Diskriminierungseffekte sowie tatschliche Qualittsunterschiede diskutiert, die in den unterschiedlichen Merkmalen zum Ausdruck kommen.
