Mit dem Einsatz des elektronischen Rechenautomaten in der betrieblichen Datenverarbeitung ergeben sich eine ganze Reihe von fundamentalen Fra gen fr Theorie und Praxis. Das Hauptmerkmal dieser Fragestellungen ist wohl die Tatsache, da die Unternehmung immer als Ganzes in Betracht ge zogen werden mu. Es gengt nicht mehr, einzelne Problemkreise isoliert zu betrachten und dafr Lsungen auszuarbeiten, vielmehr ist jede Aufgabe im Zusammenhang des Betriebsganzen zu analysieren. Der Interdependenz aller betrieblichen Vorgnge ist in vollem Mae Rechnung zu tragen. Der Betrieb, die Unternehmung als Ganzes wird als ein System, ein Informa tionssystem gesehen und analysiert. Die theoretischen Grundlagen fr diese berlegungen entstammen aus drei Bereichen: Informationstheorie, Kybernetik und Betriebswirtschaftslehre. Aus diesen Wurzeln ergeben sich die Mittel zur Analyse des betrieblichen Informationssystems, seiner einzelnen Elemente und des sich darin abspie lenden Informationsflusses. Beim betrieblichen Entscheidungsproze geht es darum festzulegen, in welchem Mae er in ein automatisiertes Informa tionssystem eingebaut werden kann und wo die Grenzen dazu liegen. Am Prinzip der Integration, welches die Voraussetzung zur Verwirklichung eines automatisierten Informationssystems bildet, zeigt sich nochmals der An spruch, den jede Automation erhebt, die Ganzheit einzubeziehen, den Be trieb als Ganzes zu erfassen.
