Auf der Grundlage zahlreicher Interviews mit ExpertInnen lassen sich die relevanten Faktoren identifizieren, die die Kriminalittsentwicklung der Jahre 1995 bis 2010 beeinflusst haben. In Kombination mit Zeitreihendaten aus Bayern, Brandenburg, Niedersachsen und Sachsen-Anhalt werden statistische Modelle zur Erklrung der Hufigkeitsziffern entwickelt. Die Modelle sind der Ausgangspunkt fr die Prognose der registrierten Kriminalitt sowie der Tatverdchtigen, Verurteilten und Inhaftierten bis zum Jahr 2020.
