Straftter weisen im Vergleich zur Allgemeinbevlkerung hohe Prvalenzraten des Drogenkonsums auf und umgekehrt ist ein problematischer Drogenkonsum hufig die Ursache fr Straftaten. Konservativen Schtzungen zufolge sind etwa ein Fnftel der Strafgefangenen in Deutschland ehemalige oder aktuelle Drogenkonsumenten. Bisher gibt es nur vereinzelt auf diese Zielgruppe zugeschnittene Interventionen und Behandlungsprogramme. Entsprechende Wirksamkeitsnachweise fehlen fast vollstndig. Im Fokus der im Buch dokumentierten Untersuchungen steht die Erprobung einer Therapievorbereitungsstation (TVS), die erstmals im hamburgischen Strafvollzug evaluiert wurde. Die Intervention umfasst ein suchtspezifisches Fertigkeitentraining im Sinne der Dialektisch-Behavioralen Therapie (DBT) nach Linehan, ein Training zur Rckfallprvention, Gesprchsgruppen sowie eine therapeutische Laufgruppe und ein Akupunkturangebot. Die Ergebnisse der Evaluation sprechen fr die Machbarkeit und Effektivitt einer Therapievorbereitungsstation.
