Im Rahmen einer qualitativen Interviewstudie analysiert Anne Schrter, welche Strategien Familien entwickeln, um die Bedrftigkeit im Sinne des SGB II zu berwinden. Im Fokus stehen die sogenannten Aufstocker-Familien, die trotz eigenen Einkommens auf zustzliche ALG II-Leistungen angewiesen sind. Mit der Analyse von Handlungsstrategien der Familien wird empirisch aufgezeigt, welche Bedeutung die Familien dem Ausstieg aus der Bedrftigkeit beimessen und mit welchen Herausforderungen sie sich dabei konfrontiert sehen. Unter Einbeziehung institutioneller Handlungsbedingungen wird ferner herausgestellt, wie Familien auf Forderungen des Jobcenters einerseits und Anreize der Familienpolitik andererseits reagieren. Diese Studie verbindet somit familien-, arbeitsmarkt- und handlungssoziologische Gesichtspunkte.
