Die Kontraste funktional vs. emotional sowie manuell vs. digital treten beim Designprozess zutage. Neben der Nutzung von stofflichen und nicht-stofflichen Modellen ist die Integration der skulpturalen Gestalt und der technischen Randbedingungen eine Herausforderung. Prozessseitig wird dies durch Medienbrche zwischen stofflichen und nicht-stofflichen Modellen und einer nicht-optimalen Anforderungsvisualisierung an Designoberflchen weiter erschwert. Das bergeordnete Ziel von Ulrich Feldinger ist daher, eine Visualisierung von technischen Anforderungen an Designoberflchen zu entwickeln, welche den heutigen Ansprchen an Designgte und Prozessdynamik gerecht wird. Ebenso soll die Kluft zwischen stofflichen und nicht-stofflichen Designmodellen berbrckt werden.
