Mit der quantitativen Teilstudie werden Mediennutzung und Lesefhigkeiten von Menschen mit geistiger Behinderung evaluiert. Die qualitative Studie im Stil der Grounded Theory Methodologie richtet den Blick auf die persnliche Bedeutsamkeit von Lesen und Literatur fr die Probanden. Das zentrale Ergebnis ist die Erkenntnis, dass Literacy mit bestimmten Funktionen besetzt ist: Literacy bernimmt im Lebensumfeld der untersuchten Menschen mit geistiger Behinderung eine bedeutende Rolle im Identittsbildungsprozess.
