Gerade das Antiklassische und Widerstndige von Kleists Werk wurde und wird immer wieder als verwandt und impulsgebend empfunden. Ausgehend von der Biographie des Dichters, schildert Klaus Mller-Salget die Etappen dieser Nachwirkung, die ber die Literatur, das Theater, die Literaturwissenschaft hinaus auch andere Knste und moderne Medien ergriffen hat.
