Caloritech FS Series Finned Strip Heaters, Low-Watt Density are a versatile and economical heating source typically used across a wide range of applications, including surface heating (platens, dies, molds, tanks, piping); process air heating (drying cabinets, ovens, baking ovens, vacuum dehydrating ovens, moisture protection for motors); dropping resistors for line applications in railroads and load banks; winterizing (hoppers, conveyors, ducts, car heating, thawing); original equipment (air conditioning, laboratory equipment, food packaging, ovens, presses, drying equipment). FS Series finned strip heaters have two offset bolt-type terminals at one end. Caloritech Finned Strip Heaters are an excellent industrial heating product that can be easily controlled by using a heating control panel, mechanical thermostat, or cost-effective bi-metal thermostats that can be installed on the surface of the heater. Mounting holes are useful to mount the heaters securely on the wall housing with a terminal extending from the sheath for easy electrical connections. Available Upon Request Special Order - Lead wires can be supplied through a special order to extend from one end of the strip heater which makes the installation more flexible as the temperature controller is easily adaptable to a specific configuration. The surface of our strip heaters can get quite hot, so we would need to know the operating temperature which is application dependent to select wire with a suitable temperature rating on the insulation jacket. Aluminum Steel Sheath - The entire heater assembly is encased in an aluminized steel sheath and is compressed under high pressure. The sheath provides both corrosion resistance and an attractive appearance. Aluminized steel strip heaters are suitable for applications where the maximum sheath temperature does not exceed 1000 F (538 C). Fins are 0.022" (0.56 mm) thick cadmium-plated steel with a nominal four fins per inch. Fins are approximately 2" (51 mm) x 1 3/8" (35 mm). Installation - Standard strip heaters listed are rated at 120V and 240V. All strip heaters can be used on voltages lower than listed for reduced wattage, and some designs can also be used on higher voltages check the factory. Whenever the voltage to ground exceeds 300V, secondary insulators must be used.
