It also adds 24 brand new tiles to your classic game to help incorporate the new game mechanics into a normal game. An included cloth bag neatly fits all of the new components together, making it easy to separate the expansion pieces from the original game. It does require the original Carcassonne game in order to play, so if you don't have that, make sure to pick it up.
