Charades? It certainly is a strange thought. An arena full of people sitting in silence, as one gladiator pretends to be a donkey and his teammate sits there stumped. "You're a horse! No, a cow! No, a table! A kangaroo?" We are not sure that this is really the most entertaining way for gladiators to spend their time in the ring, but if they played charades, no one would have to die!They could always play other games too. Gladiators playing musical chairs? A small band sits in one corner of the ring, and they play Rome's favorite pop hits while the gladiators walk in a circle around the chairs. Then, the music stops, and the gladiators rush to the nearest chair. The fate for the loser is truly terrible, he gets booed by the whole crowd! (still a much better fate than death.) We're trying to sell these new ideas for gladiator games, but even WE are not really buying it.FUN DETAILSSo for now, we will just have to assume gladiators fought the way we always imagined.
