Maxxis Assegai EXO MTB Tire The Maxxis Assegai tire is named after the iron-tipped spear used by the Zulu people of South Africa. Greg Minnaar, a native of South Africa, thought it was a fitting name for a tire ready to do battle on the mountain. The tall knobs punch through dust and loam to find traction, but also offer support and confidence on wet roots and rocks. While other tyres excel only in certain conditions, the new Maxxis Assegai is built to go fast everywhere. 3C MaxxGrip/MaxxTerra rubber compounds available Wide Trail casing optimized for 30-35mm rims Dual-ply casing Tubeless compatible ETRTO: 63-584 (27.5") TPI: 60/120 Bead: Foldable Tech: EXO+/TR/WT Manufacturer Part Number: TB00308200/TB00172400/TB00202700 3C MAXXGRIP Maxxis 3C MaxxGrip compound uses the stickiest, slowest rebounding rubber we offer in a mountain bike tire. This high traction compound is the same one used by our top World Cup Downhill and Enduro World Series athletes and is now available in a variety of casing configurations to cover all riders. 3C MaxxGrip + EXO+ casing = All-around trail riding in wet/slick conditions. 3C MAXTERRA An intermediate compound configuration used in select mountain tyres. 3C MaxxTerra is softer and offers more traction than 3C MaxxSpeed, yet provides better tread wear and less rolling resistance than 3C MaxxGrip. WIDE TRAIL Wide Trail (WT) construction optimizes the tires tread layout and profile on todays modern, wider rims. Traditional tires are designed around older, narrower rims and can create an overly square tire profile, leading to less than optimal performance. WT tires are optimized for a 35mm inner rim width but are proven to work over a range from 30-35mm inner rim widths, depending on the riders preference.
