These chainrings were the first of their kind and have since found use beyond cyclocross in various applications such as commuting, gravel riding, mountain bikes, and even full-on road use with their giant 50t rings. Key Features: Patented Drop-Stop Technology : Wide/narrow tooth pattern for improved chain retention and reduced friction Alternating Tooth Pattern : Prevents chain derailment and provides clearance for mud and debris Compatibility : Fits 110 BCD 5-arm cranksets; use of specialized bolts required (Wolf Tooth's 6mm bolts recommended) Chainline : Varies depending on mounting position; typically sits about 2mm closer to the frame than the stock big ring Material : Durable 7075-T6 aluminum Weight : Available in a range of sizes: 46t (107g), 48t (115g), 50t (125g), and 52t (143g) Made in the USA For optimal mounting, stock 2x bolts won't work, so you'll need to use specialized bolts like Wolf Tooth's 6mm bolts. Additionally, these rings can be mounted in either the big or small ring position on double cranksets, but the most common setup is in the big ring position for chainstay clearance. To ensure smooth and secure operation, it's recommended to use a clutch-style rear derailleur and possibly a chainguide or chainkeeper when riding in extremely muddy conditions. With Wolf Tooth's Cyclocross chainrings, you can experience improved performance and reliability on your favorite rides.
