From the workshop of Italfama in Florence, Italy, comes this eloquent chess set package that includes their solid brass Oriental Chessmen matched with their Elm Wood Burl Single Drawer Chess Case. This attractive chess set has a decorative Staunton design with an elegant profile and unique shapes. The knight is beautifully sculpted with detailed features including the mane, bridle, eyes, ears, and mouth. The king is 7.5 cm (approx. 3") tall and has a base diameter of 2.4 cm (approx. 1"). The pieces are made from solid brass and are lacquered to prevent them from ever tarnishing. Pieces have red felt pads with each one embossed with the Italfama logo.The chess case is beautifully designed and skillfully constructed by the craftsmen of Italfama. This case features solid fruit wood sides with an elegant molded profile surrounding a chess board on top made from elm wood burl and maple veneer. A single drawer has two compartments for storing the chess pieces when you want to put them away and large round legs on the bottom elevate the case enhancing its rich design and color.
