This chess set package includes our British Staunton Chess Set in genuine Ebony Boxwood and Boxwood matched with our Walnut and Maple Molded Edge Chess Board and Classic Walnut Chess Box. The polished black pieces create a nice sharp contrast against the walnut and maple chess board which many players prefer. Our British Staunton is based on an old British Chess Company chess set from many years ago. It's purely traditional with all the features a player and collector looks for in a high quality Staunton chess set. The pieces have an elegant profile that is carefully turned to perfection on every piece and the ebonized boxwood and boxwood are hand polished to a rich sheen.Our Walnut and Maple Molded Edge Chess Board from Rechapados Ferrer combines classic design with elegant features to create an eye-catching battle field for your chess game. This is an inlaid chess board handcrafted from high quality walnut and maple veneer and sealed with a polyurethane finish that both protects and enhances the beauty of the wood. A wide and colorful burl wood delimiter accentuates the playing field while the black stained molded edge highlights the entire board. The squares are 2.125" and the footprint of the board is 21.5" square. Four felt pads on the bottom will protect whatever furniture the board sets on.Our Classic Chess Box is wonderfully constructed and reminiscent of the old heirloom quality chess boxes from many years ago. The box is covered in walnut veneer and the interior is lined with a thick green baize just like we use for the pads on our chess pieces. The box has a divider in the center for storing the black and white pieces separately. We used high quality recessed hinges and a brass plated lock for securing the lid. We include 2 keys in case one ever gets lost.
