This chess set includes our German Knight Staunton pieces handcrafted from boxwood matched with our Mahogany and Maple Deluxe Chess Board. This is a 34-piece set that includes two extra queens for pawn promotion. The ebonized pieces are lacquer polished to an obsidian black finish nearly indistinguishable from real ebony. Simple is often best and our German Knight with its simple yet attractive design is the ideal set for your everyday chess game. Unencumbered by fine detail, these chess pieces will stand up to the rigor of daily play for a lifetime. The king is tall with a base diameter of 1.375", an excellent size for casual chess games at home. Pieces are heavily weighted for exceptional stability and have thick green baize pads for a soft cushion on the chess board. We include a Certificate of Manufacture so you will always know what the pieces are, when they were made, and where they came from.Our Mahogany and Maple Deluxe Chess Board from Rechapados Ferrer combines classic design with elegant features to create an eye-catching battlefield for your chess game. This is an inlaid chess board handcrafted from high quality mahogany and maple veneer and sealed with a polyurethane finish that both protects and enhances the beauty of the wood.
