The pieces are represented by figures and artifacts from ancient Egyptian culture including Pharaoh and Queen, the Obelisk, and the Egyptian gods Horus and Mafdet. The pieces are artistically designed with fine detail to capture the essence of the characters. The pieces are cast in solid polystone, a very hard, stone-like material, and are hand painted in realistic colors by highly skilled artisans with amazing detail.Our Black and Ash Burl High Gloss Deluxe Chess Board is made for us by Rechapados Ferrer in Spain, the largest manufacturer of high-quality chess boards in the world. This is an inlaid chess board made from black stained poplar and ash burl veneer sealed with a high gloss polyurethane finish to protect and enhance the beauty of the wood.
