The wide grooves manage to resist hydroplaning by channeling water and slush from below the tire's footprint. The individual tread elements also manage to disperse mud and snow from between the tread elements to keep them from blocking the tire from its contact with the road surface.The specialized tread features open shoulders, large staggered tread blocks, wide grooves and a detailed upper sidewall design.
