"Progressive Labs SAMe-200 is an enteric coated tablet containing of S-adenosyl-methionine. S-adenosyl-l-methionine (SAMe) is an important biological agent in the human body, participating in over 40 essential biochemical reactions. SAMe is normally produced in the liver from the amino acid methionine which is abundant in most diets. Low blood or central nervous system levels of SAMe have been detected in people with cirrhosis of the liver, coronary heart disease, Alzheimers disease, and depression. SAMe functions as a methyl group donor in reaction catalyzed by methyltransferase enzymes. SAMe also serves as a precursor molecule for glutathione synthesis. SAMe-200 is in an enteric coated tablet to allow for disintegration and optimal absorption in the intestinal tract.Suggested Use One enteric coated tablet daily, on an empty stomach, or as directed by a health care professional.
