OVERVIEW: The Yokohama C.drive 2 ZPS (OE) is a performance, summer tire made for passenger vehicles. This model is the original equipment tire of select vehicles.The tire is designed with the ZPS (Zero Pressure System) technology that allows a limited temporary performance in case of air pressure loss. In an instance of tire damage and eventual air pressure loss, the tire is still operational for 50 miles if it's driven up to 50 mph. This is possible due to the reinforced sidewalls of the tire that support the vehicle's weight and the specially designed bead wire that lowers the risk of the bead unseating during the drive. As such, the tire allows the driver to safely arrive at the nearest location to fix or change the tire. These tires cannot be used together with regular tires on the same vehicle.The enhanced 'Full Logic' asymmetrical tread pattern and the tire compound work together to prevent hydroplaning. The positioning of the wide circumferential grooves and the spiral drain grooves on the central rib are effective in draining water. The increased volume of silica in the tire compound ensures excellent grip in wet conditions. The orange oil added to the compound makes the rubber flexible and better at gripping in both dry and wet environments.The tires are fuel efficient. The silica-rich compound blend reduces the heat in the tire and decreases pressure accumulation from the movement of the tire under vehicle's weight during the drive. The compound featuring long intertwined polymers increases the tire's strength and lowers the tire flexing. As a result, the rolling resistance of the tire is lowered and enables better fuel economy.The Yokohama C.drive 2 ZPS (OE) offers great handling because of its special tread design. The outer zone's maximized contact area and the shortened lug grooves on the inside shoulder are made to maintain rigidity during cornering. The diamond-shaped bevels reduce stress on the central rib, preventing uneven wear. The tire also provides great controllability during high performance driving, due to efficiently regulating heat and pressure build-up.Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
