Convexity, in both the large and the small heart molds: The mold, held right-side up, is shaped as if pushed from beneath. This form will not affect the food you are baking--the weight of the batter will flatten the mold as the product bakes, to yield a cake that is level. A pinprick-sized hole appears in three spots on the base of the mold. The three are evenly spaced and near the sides of the mold. On the sides themselves, near the pinprick holes, are pinhead-sized holes. Because liquid may seep through those perforations, use this mold with a more viscous substance like dough or batter. Novacart's paper baking molds are designed to eliminate metal baking pans, The Mold is recyclable but not compostable.
