Kuhn Auto Safety Lidlifter Plastic body and knob Stainless cutting wheel Mini pliers on side of opener head Button (other side of opener head) to squeeze or release the pliers The Auto Safety Lidlifter makes it safe to open cans. The can gets cut without resulting injury. Unlike the standard can opener--which cuts into the top of the can--the Kuhn Rikon Lidlifter cuts into the side. Once the cutting is done, the lid is off, unattached to the can. You don't have to touch the lid, either: The edge of the severed lid is shaped so the Lidlifter's built-in pliers can grip the lid until you release a button and drop the lid in your wastebasket. Grabs edge of can Cuts into side of can and leaves the edge thin but not sharp Detaches lid from can Grips the lid with built-in pliers for safe disposal of lid Leaves no jagged or pointed parts 8 inch long, 2-1/2 inch wide, 2-3/4 inch high Text with drawings on back of package for use of Lidlifter Wash by hand. Towel dry prior to placing in storage.
