These probes are ideal for obtaining 12" or representative core samples for quick visual inspection and laboratory analysis.The basic model is a 7/8" OD probe with a heat-treated serrated tip and chamfered extraction slot. For best results, the sampler should be emptied with the extraction tool after each core has been taken. This will eliminate unnecessary compaction and will provide a more accurate core. The cores from this sampler are emptied directly into a bucket or sample bag.The deluxe model includes a (1 liter) plastic canister capable of holding approximately 20 cores. The canister can be opened quickly by sliding the locking shaft collar away from the bottom cap. Alternatively, the top of the canister may be removed by unscrewing the top cap with built in drill adapter. The sample can be emptied into a larger collection bag or the canister can be sealed with two plastic end caps and sent to the lab for analysis.Both models require 1/2' chuck drills for operation (24V recommended).
